# Jonathan Ong

## whoami

I'm Jonathan Ong and I've been in cybersecurity for about 4 years. In late 2020, I decided to commit to entering and thriving in the cybersecurity industry.

As most cybersecurity blogs accurately emphasize, I invested my first few months into building a solid networking foundation with the key concepts such as the OSI and TCP/IP models, etc. As I had my sights set on joining the blue team, I then chose to pursue the CompTIA CySA+ as it focused on interpreting and analyzing logs. Additionally, as I realized the growing emphasis on cloud usage, I chose to improve my foundation in this area by obtaining the CCSK V4.

In another life, I was an analyst at a Fintech startup who wore a host of hats. These included Product, Account Management, Market Research, and Operations & Logistics among others. After that stint, I was an analyst at an Adtech firm specializing in the buy-side of programmatic advertising. This role saw me managing campaigns for MNCs which spanned a variety of industries. Currently, I'm open to blue team roles such as a Cybersecurity Analyst, while pursuing the OSCP. If my background and skill set sound like a good fit, I look forward to exploring any suitable opportunities!

Also feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn and Twitter, or let me know your thoughts on my walkthroughs. Happy hacking!\
